The Averie Foundation/Bridging the Gap is a unique children’s foundation with an alliance of social service organizations, hospitals, camps and schools caring for developmentally disabled children and at-risk youth.

Many of our special needs children come from communities that cannot afford the one-on-one specialized care and expensive equipment necessary for them to thrive. Our unique foundation provides funding through your donations that make it possible to provide special needs programs that are needed for the educationally, emotionally and physically challenged.

We are actively seeking partnership opportunities with schools on all levels in order to provide support for students with special needs. We can also provide After-School programs that will greatly improve productivity of special needs students.

Afterschool programs provide students with special needs opportunities to increase their skills while building on their potential. Studies show that students with special needs who participate in after-school programs have:

•Improved behavior
